Hip Hop Dance Club

Who is HHDC?

The Hip Hop Dance Club here at SMU has a simple motto. "We just want to dance". No expensive fees, no experience required.

Open Community Classes are every Tuesday, 7:30 - 8:30pm in Dedman Fitness Center (Studio 3, upstairs).

Make sure to join the mailing list to be alerted of cancellations and last minute changes! For those interested.... Dance Company rehearsals are Sundays from 12pm to ??? (3pm at the latest).

Student Senate Gave us the Green Light!

Whoohoo!

Yesterday, Jenevieve, Aden and I went to speak in front of Student Senate. It is SCARY! But we did our best.

And Katie Perkins has just informed me that we have been granted our temporary chartered status! :)

This means we have all the privileges you can have by being an SMU organization (minus the budget). This is going to help us get better advertisement, hassle-free (or less-hassle) event booking, and increase the quality of our events.

Be on the look out. We're going to be that constant blinking spec on your radar!

First Meeting!

The first meeting was ABSOLUTELY successful! Beyond my wildest imagination! It is fantastic that the club is getting started with THIS amount of momentum.

So what happened today? Well, I had a meeting with student senate to get the dance club to be a chartered club. This will give us a lot of privileges (money, in particular) that we didn't have before.

We picked our new exec board.

We found that a lot of people really do want to perform for the talent show in November.

And we learned how to jerk!
